Summary: Responsible for preparation of meals from the menu plan. Carries out the schedule for serving and maintains the sanitation of the kitchen.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the Following: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Adheres to company policies and procedures.
  • Prepares menus as developed by the Consultant and Dietician
  • Adheres to all resident diet orders
  • Serves meals within the appropriate time frame
  • Skillfully prepares attractive meals.
  • Complies with all state sanitation requirements
  • Coordinates the serving and cleanup of all meals
  • Assures that the kitchen and dining room are maintained in a clean and attractive manner.
  • Maintains food service records according to state requirements
  • Assures the safe storage of food in compliance with state regulations and company policy
  • Reports to Kitchen manager any loss, breakage or waste of supplies or any other food service problems.
  • Assures that kitchen equipment is used in a safe manner and remains in good working order.
  • Assumes responsibilities of Kitchen Manager, when requested, in their absence.
  • Is self-directed and works with little or no supervision.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
